Die SSG Leipzig ist ein Leistungssport Schwimmverein und schafft in Leipzig ein professionelles Umfeld für Schwimmer, die in Deutschland bereits die nationale Spitze erreicht haben.

In der Schwimmstart-Gemeinschaft (SSG) Leipzig sind somit die besten Schwimmerinnen und Schwimmer vereint, die für Leipzig nationale und internationale Schwimmwettkämpfe bestreiten.

Seit 2008 bündeln mehrere Schwimmvereine mit ca. 3.200 Mitgliedern aus Leipzig und Umgebung unter dem Dach der Schwimm-Startgemeinschaft Leipzig ihre Kräfte. Derzeit gehen die besten Schwimmer des SV Handwerk Leipzig, Postschwimmverein Leipzig, SV Miltitz, SSV Leutzsch, SC DHfK Leipzig, Schwimmverein Automation e.V. sowie SV Zwickau und SC Riesa für die SSG gemeinsam bei Wettkämpfen auf die Jagd nach Bestzeiten und Medaillen.
